Over the May bank holiday, the Cubs and Beavers ages 5-10 years old, both boys and girls from across Bath not only got to enjoy the fabulous weather with their friends – they had a wealth of amazing activities and opportunities to participate in, in this year’s camp.
The biggest Scout camp since 1985, Bath District Beaver and Cub camp saw 350 young people join together to take make new friends, have fun and make some amazing memories across 3 days while sleeping under canvas. All this enabled by over 100 adults – Leaders aided by parents experiencing some of the satisfaction of working with young people in such a fun environment.
With activities ranging from archery to grass sledging and jujitsu – there really was something for everyone and everyone had the chance to develop new skills.
For those who enjoy the adrenalin of adventure, the sky-high climbing wall provided an active, safe way to challenge physical dexterity and nerves. Whilst the arts and craft tent provided an oasis for creativity and ‘imagination to be brought to fruition. If that wasn’t enough, the Beavers and Cubs also had an array of sporting and team building activities to participate in, not to mention a field of inflatables to have fun with their friends on!
Of course, no camp would be complete without an evening campfire and some tasty marshmallows to toast, and to help wind down after a day of adventure, the campers were treated to outdoor screenings of a classic film.
